Ensure you are competent without the use of a calculator.

Remember: Find ten percent (by dividing by ten) then multiply by any tens e.g 40% x 4
635/10= 63.5 x 4 = 254

                    Find one percent (diving ten percent by ten) then muliply by any ones.
63.5/10 = 6.35 x 3 = 19.05
                    Add together
254 + 19.05 = 273.05
